FROSTY CONTROL® - the reliable protection for metal and plastic pipes
The Hemstedt FROSTY CONTROL® heating cables with thermostat are perfectly suited for all kinds of water pipes in the house or in the garden that could be damaged or blocked by frost. This applies, for example, to inlet pipes for outdoor faucets, fountains or swimming pools, but also drains of air-conditioning systems, dryers or overflow pipes of heating systems. All of these should be protected by a heating cable with thermostat. Frost damage can cause serious consequential damage through water entering the building structure
Self-regulating and maintenance-free - heating cables with thermostat
The Hemstedt heating cables with thermostat are designed in a way that they are automatically switched on, when the temperature around the thermostat drops below +5°C. That means that you don't have to worry about anything, no matter if it is a sudden cold snap or just you not being around, for example in a vacation home or tool shed. If the temperature rises back to over +5°C, the heating cable with thermostat will switch off again.
Since the Hemstedt heating cable with thermostat is designed with the HEM-SYSTEM®, a way to connect heating cables without sleeves, there are no vulnerable joints like with usual cables. Additionally, they're 100% waterproof all the way.
Save energy through needs-based regulation
Through the independent, needs-based regulation, the heating cables with thermostat are energy-efficient, especially compared to permanently run heating cables. Through additional insulation of the pipes with a customary insulation layer of 20 mm, which is available at any hardware store, efficiency can be raised and the operating costs can be lowered even further.
Simple installation
The heating cables with thermostat are loosely wrapped around the pipes and fixed with adhesive aluminium tape or zip ties. The temperature sensor is attached to the coldest point of the pipe, for example the one that is farthest from the outer house walls, or the one that is most affected by wind and weather.
