The ATEX heating cables by Hemstedt are avialable with a broad range of resistance values and distinguish themselves by outstanding durability. Thus, they're appropriate for fields in which reliable protection from explosions according to ATEX norms is needed.
Multi-layered structure
The heat conductor itself consists of high-grade twisted or bound wire, covered by a PFA protective sheath, followed by an extremely robust metal mesh and a highly flexible plastic hull. The cables can be operated at temperatures ranging from -40°C to 200°C and ensure full protection all across that range.
Different grades of resistance
Depending on their intended purpose, the ATEX heating cables are available with varying resistances of 4 and 7 Joule.
Self-limiting heating cable
Hemstedt HEM-EX is a self-limiting heating cable for frost protection or temperature maintenance of e.g. pipework and containers. Hemstedt HEM-EX is therefore approved for use in potentially explosive, non-hazardous and aggressive environments in accordance with global standards. Thanks to its self-limiting properties, the heating cable cannot overheat, even if it is laid overlapping. The output power is limited depending on the workpiece temperature. The HEM-EX shrink technology system includes a very flexible and space-saving connection technology for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The very compact dimensions also allow installation in confined spaces. The self-limiting heating cable is customised at our factory using HEM shrink technology.
